Terms & Conditions for the “Alinta Energy ACN Spring Bonus IBO Competition” Promotion (Competition)
- Entrants to the Competition are taken to accept and agree to abide by these Terms and Conditions.
- The Promoter of the Competition is Alinta Energy Retail Sales Pty Limited (ABN 22 149 658 300) of Level 13, Grosvenor Place, 225 George Street, Sydney, NSW 2000 (Promoter).
- ‘ACN’ is ACN Pacific (ABN 85 108 535 708) of Suite 2 Level 1 19-23 Hollywood Ave, Bondi Junction, NSW 2022.
- The Competition commences at 12:00am (AEST) on Tuesday 1 August 2023 and closes at 11:59pm (AEST) on Saturday 30 September 2023 (Competition Period).
- Entry into (and winning) this Competition is only open to individuals who:
- an active Independent Business Owner (IBO) of ACN Pacific, who have:
- paid their joining fee by 1 August 2023,
- completed and passed their ACN Customer Acquisition Code Training,
- completed and passed their Alinta Energy Accreditation Training,
- presently and have in the past agreed to, understood and abided by the ACN IBO Customer Acquisition Code and ACN Policies and Procedures
- have successfully completed their ACN AU Customer Acquisition Code and Alinta Energy Accreditation training by the Award Date (in para 10 below) ;
- is a resident of Victoria, New South Wales, South-East Queensland, or South Australia; and
- is the account holder of an active residential Alinta Energy electricity account whose name appears on the bill at the Award Date (Eligible Entrant).
- an active Independent Business Owner (IBO) of ACN Pacific, who have:
- An Eligible Entrant excludes any:
- employee or agent of the Promoter;
- relative of an employee of the Promoter, being a spouse, parent, step-parent, sibling or child of that employee; or
- person making an incomplete, or otherwise unlawful entry.
- All Eligible Entrants who refer customers to Alinta Energy’s Priority Plus or Business Deal energy plans and who then switch to Alinta Energy (Eligible Services) through the ACN Pacific channel during the Competition Period will be entered into the Competition. Referrals received after the Competition Period will automatically be deemed as invalid. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for late, lost, or misdirected entries due to technical disruptions, network congestions or any other reason.
- Customers must have completed the switch process and be active with Alinta Energy or in the process of switching to Alinta Energy as at the Award Date to constitute an Eligible Service. Services must be signed up via an ACN Pacific channel during the Competition Period.
- Eligible Entrants must provide a valid phone number and be contactable during office hours.
- The winners will be selected at 10:00am (AEST) on 13 October 2023 (Award Date) in the ACN Pacific corporate office in Sydney and winners will be notified by phone.
- The winners will be the Eligible Entrants in each relevant State, who referred the most customers of Eligible Services per State during the Promotion Period, as outlined in the table below.

- In the instance where multiple Eligible Entrants have an equal number of Eligible Services, the Prize will be awarded to the Entrant with the earliest date when the total number of Eligible Services was achieved.
- Subject to clause 11, the winners will each receive a credit for up to their next two consecutive quarterly electricity bills, provided that the total credit across the two consecutive electricity bills does not exceed $250 (including GST) (Prize).
- Once the $250 (inclusive of GST) of credit has been exhausted for each winner, regardless of whether or not a credit has been applied to all two consecutive electricity bills, the winning account will no longer be credited, and each winner will be responsible for paying any outstanding amount on their respective electricity bill(s) to Alinta Energy.
- The maximum Prize amount for each winner is $250 (including GST). Four prizes will be allocated in total. The total prize pool is $1,000.
- For clarity, the winners will only be credited for their actual usage across the two consecutive electricity bills. If a winner’s actual usage two consecutive electricity bills come to a total of less than $250, then the winner will only be credited for that amount.
- The Prize is not transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash. For the avoidance of doubt, if the winner’s energy account with Alinta Energy is cancelled at any time after receiving the Prize and any amount of the Prize remains unused, the remaining amount of the Prize will be forfeited and cannot be withdrawn in cash or transferred to another supply address or another individual’s electricity account.
- The Promoter reserves the right, at any time, to request proof of the validity of entries and Eligible Entrants (including an entrant’s identity, place of residence or relationship to an employee of the Promoter) to claim a Prize and to disqualify any entrant who does not act in accordance with these Terms and Conditions or who tampers with the entry process. Errors and omissions may be accepted at the Promoter’s discretion. Failure by the Promoter to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights.
- The Promoter will endeavour to notify the winners by phone within 2 weeks of the Award Date. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for failing to notify a winner if that winner is not reasonably contactable.
- The Promoter’s decision regarding the winners, determination of the winner and the conduct of the Competition is final and cannot be contested. No correspondence shall be entered into.
- In the case of any force majeure event or circumstance not reasonably within the control of the Promoter and which by the reasonable exercise of due diligence the
- Promoter is not reasonably able to prevent or overcome, the Promoter reserves the right to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Promotion or value or type of Prize, subject to any written direction from a relevant regulatory authority (Force Majeure Event). Without limiting the generality of the nature of those events, a Force Majeure Event includes any act of war, terrorism or natural disaster in Australia.
- The winner accepts all risks, responsibilities and restrictions associated with the acceptance and use of the Prize. To the maximum extent permitted by law, neither the Promoter, nor any of their respective related bodies corporate or their respective officers, employees, agents or contractors accepts or otherwise has any responsibility for any loss, damage, accident, death or injury resulting or arising out of or in any way connected with the Competition. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits, excludes or modifies or purports to limit, exclude or modify the statutory consumer guarantees as provided under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 of Australia, as well as any other implied warranties or similar consumer protection laws in the States and Territories of Australia.
