ICYMI, Alinta Energy has just launched a brand-new electricity and gas plan. BetterDeal is Alinta Energy’s most competitive energy plan and means customers can get a great discount on their energy bills*. But not only that, customers in NSW, VIC, QLD and SA can also receive Bonus Credits per electricity account and gas account when they switch to the BetterDeal plan (providing they haven’t received any bonus credits in 12 months)^. Credit amounts differ per state:
- NSW & VIC – $100 credit per electricity account and gas account
- QLD & SA – $50 credit per electricity account and gas account

Stage 1 – Head to your Alinta Energy Storefront & Submit your customer’s details
Stage 2 – See your BetterDeal Energy Plan
The dollar value you see (the lowest annual price) is reflective of the 15% less than reference price but does not include a bonus credit. For example, if your estimated lowest annual price is $1,553 (inc GST) and you are eligible for a $100 bonus credit^, your estimated lowest annual price would become $1,453 (inc GST).
IMPORTANT: Remember, reference prices are based on a residential single rate electricity customer in the applicable state and distribution area as of 1 July 2023 and may differ based on a customer’s actual usage. Always check the Product Advice relevant to the customer’s address to confirm the percentage & annual amount specific to their household.
Stage 3 – Calculate your BetterDeal Usage and Supply Rates
It is important to note that the BetterDeal discount is only applicable to the variable usage and supply charges, including Peak/Off Peak Usage and Controlled Load Usage. The discount does not apply to Demand Charges or Solar FiT benefits.

For example, if you’re in NSW where the BetterDeal discount is 15%, your customer will receive a 15% discount on their usage and supply charges.
